MMOCT
One of CMS’ most recent projects for Duke Medical Center started when surgeons contacted CMS to design and manufacture a custom microscopic optical device, MMOCT, for the Ophthalmology Department to use during eye surgery. MMOCT stands for Microscope Mounted Optical Coherence Tomography. With the MMOCT, we have adapted OCT into the optical path of an ophthalmic surgical microscope so that the surgeon can use OCT to better visualize retinal tissue layers during surgery, and in the future, as a method of image guided therapeutics.

A large project for CMS has been the popular DVD/movie and video game vending machine, the Redbox. CMS parts were in the first prototype machines for the test market.
CMS has mass produced many custom-made parts that are behind the bright red doors of the Redbox. Redbox produced approximately 150 to 225 machines a week, with CMS stocking and shipping multiple parts to accommodate their production schedule.
